Lahli (Haryana): After being dismissed for just 5 runs in the first innings, Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar made his last appearance for Mumbai memorable when he played a match-winning knock of 79 runs against Haryana.
Mumbai vs Haryana, Day 4: As it happened» Tendulkar who was unbeaten on 55 runs at stumps on Day 3 added 24 more runs to his score and was well supported by Dhawal Kulkarni at the other end, who hit the winning runs. There were two close lbw appeals made against the Little Master by Harshal Patel but both were rejected by the umpire as one had inside edge while on the other occasion the ball was pitched outside off-stump. The 40-time defending champions were bundled out for just 136 runs which gave them a two-run lead over Ajay Jadeja-led Haryana who too were dismissed for a meagre score of 134 in the first innings. Haryana scored 241 runs in the second innings and thus Mumbai needed 240 runs to win the match. Zaheer Khan’s team was at one stage wobbling at 190/6 after which Tendulkar came to their rescue with a formidable knock that gave the local crowd entertainment worth their money.
